The first method involves draining the water, demolishing the top 2-3 feet, putting the debris in the bottom of the pool, then filling in the pool with dirt and topsoil, then compressing it all down. The other method involves draining the pool, then removing all materials from the area completely by hauling them away.

How much does a pool removal typically cost?

On average, a pool removal will cost $5,000-6,000, but costs can range anywhere from $3,000-8,000 depending on a range of factors. If you have a more complex and large pool, the costs could go up to $10,000.

If you have an above ground pool, the process is much more simple. To remove an above ground pool, you turn off the water hook up, drain the pool, and haul it away. This can cost up to $2,000.
